Free Secure Password Generator — Cryptographically Strong

Weak passwords are the leading cause of account compromises worldwide. Using easy-to-guess or reused passwords exposes you to brute force attacks, dictionary attacks and credential stuffing — where attackers test leaked passwords from one breach across thousands of other services.

Our password generator uses the Web Cryptography API to create cryptographically secure random passwords that are impossible to predict. You control the length (4 to 64 characters), which character types to include, and whether to exclude visually ambiguous characters for easier reading.

Password Strength Guidelines

📏
Length first
12 characters minimum, 16+ for banking and email accounts.
🔀
Mix character types
Uppercase + lowercase + numbers + symbols = exponentially harder to crack.
🆕
Unique per account
Never reuse passwords — one breach can compromise all your accounts.
🔐
Use a password manager
Store generated passwords in Bitwarden, 1Password or similar.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long should my password be?
Security experts recommend a minimum of 12 characters, with 16+ for sensitive accounts. Our generator lets you set any length from 4 to 64 characters.
Is the generated password secure?
Yes. We use the Web Cryptography API (window.crypto.getRandomValues) which provides cryptographically secure random numbers — much stronger than Math.random().
Do you store or log the generated passwords?
No. All password generation happens locally in your browser. No data is ever sent to our servers. Your passwords are never logged, stored or transmitted.
What makes a strong password?
A strong password is long (12+ characters), uses all character types (uppercase, lowercase, numbers, symbols), is unique to each account, and contains no dictionary words or personal information.
Should I use a password manager?
Yes. We strongly recommend storing strong passwords in a trusted password manager (Bitwarden, 1Password, etc.) rather than trying to remember them. This lets you use unique, complex passwords for every account.
